These institutional patches, don't upgrade human cognition but they do wonders for achieving the individualistic goals by leveraging the knowledge and capabilities within a distributed network of market forces. I've made an app (in beta) to help non-experts use estimation power of Shannon-Hartley equation and Kelly Criterion and hopefully create a crowd sourcing network of decision making where users help one another critique choices and decisions broadly and in safe way where private information cannot be leveraged to harm anyone.
